Portal Video Calls Can Now Have a Sign Language Interpreter Onscreen

Meta now offers Video Relay Services on Portal to help the deaf and hard-of-hearing communicate more easily with family, friends, and coworkers.

A step up from the text-based Telecommunications Relay Services, VRS links users with a qualified onscreen interpreter, who volleys the conversation back and forth in American Sign Language with the deaf party, and by voice with the hearing party. The feature was made possible through a collaboration with ZP Better Together, which offers video interpreting and communication solutions for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing.

Cummings vs Premier Rehab Oral Argument (Supreme Court live streaming)

Cummings vs Premier Rehab Oral Argument will be airing in C-span online and television tomorrow as of Tuesday, November 30th at 10:00 AM (EST)

Support the good cause for the Deaf Community in United States is to provide the interpreter(s) in near future. Ms. Cummings is DeafBlind herself and was denied interpreters. The main issue in court being heard is about emotional distress damages not ASL interpreter denial which impacts us all. See links below for more info.
