My name is Crystal Bowers, and I am a mechanical engineering student at George Mason University. For my mechanical engineering capstone class, my team and I are developing technical modifications to improve the experience of autonomous and conventional vehicles by drivers who are deaf or hard of hearing.

We are hoping to learn more about any specific needs or pain points felt by drivers who are deaf or hard of hearing to ensure we are in continuous dialogue with people who are underserved to learn from their experiences rather than simply imagining what those experiences might be.

I was wondering if you would be willing to answer three questions to allow my team and I to learn more about the needs of drivers who are deaf or hard of hearing over email? I also have a Google Form with the questions if any members would be willing to answer.

Thank you for your kind consideration!

Sincerely,
Crystal Bowers
